Choose an AI visibility tool around the answers you need to inspect.
Shortlist Reputably when your local business or agency needs a focused set of buyer questions across five answer surfaces, alongside social lead discovery and Google reviews. Compare specialist tools when you need a larger question panel or different engines.
Start with the kind of visibility you mean
For ChatGPT and Gemini recommendations, evaluate AI answer tracking: the question, saved answer, business names and supporting sources. Traditional keyword rank tracking measures positions in search results. A tool described as an “AI rank tracker” may do one or both; confirm that before comparing prices. Our AI rank tracking buyer’s guide covers that distinction and the wider market.
| Your requirement | Where to start | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| AI answers, social leads and local reviews for the same business | Reputably | Whether its focused question allowance and five surfaces cover your buying questions. |
| A subscription centred on AI search monitoring | Reputably vs Otterly.AI | Independent prompt capacity, included engines and the cost of required add-ons. |
| A broader AI marketing evaluation | Reputably vs Profound | Answer evidence, analysis and team workflows included in the specific plan or quote. |
These are starting points, not an exhaustive ranking. Otterly.AI’s pricing page documents its prompt allowances and engine add-ons. Profound’s product site describes answer-engine insights, prompt volumes and agent analytics. We reviewed those public sources on 5 November 2026; we have not run a controlled accuracy comparison. We publish Reputably and disclose our comparison method.
What you can evaluate in Reputably
Reputably tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode within plan usage limits. Open a saved answer to check whether the business is recommended, mentioned in passing, or present only as a cited source. A citation to your website is useful evidence of source selection; it does not establish that the answer recommends your product.
The standard setup allows three parent questions per business tracker, each with up to three additional phrasings. Those phrasings are not twelve independently chosen buyer questions. Reputably does not track Perplexity or Copilot. Check the tracking specifications, collection methods and current pricing against your requirements.
Gemini fan-out queries are available on demand
Use Reputably’s on-demand Gemini fan-out capability to explore related searches returned while Gemini prepares an answer. It is separate from scheduled Gemini answer tracking; a routine saved answer may not contain a query trail. Ask about access for your evaluation. Returned searches can help you investigate source selection, but they are not keyword search-volume estimates or a guarantee of future recommendations.
Bring one buyer question to the evaluation
For an illustrative local agency test, use a specific service and area instead of the agency’s brand name. Keep the wording, market and required engines the same across tools.
- Check the full answer. Record explicit recommendations separately from incidental mentions and citations. If a list has no stated ranking, do not call its first bullet the “best” choice.
- Follow a source. Identify the claim it supports and whether it describes your business or a competitor. Inspect the Reputably evidence walkthrough.
- Inspect disclosed searches. Distinguish an engine’s fan-out queries from generated prompt variations. Missing query data does not mean the engine searched nothing.
- Repeat and preserve the context. Keep dates, engine names and exact wording with each answer. Flag repeated text and unavailable answers rather than interpreting every row as a new independent outcome.
- Test the handover. Use the data-export evaluation and cost worksheet with your actual reporting workload.
A tracking subscription measures available evidence; it cannot promise that an engine will recommend you. If the focused panel and combined workflows fit, start a Reputably trial with a defined evaluation question. If your immediate need is finding live buying conversations, use the separate social listening comparisons.
