What's tracked

AI visibility tracking looks at how the major AI assistants — ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude — answer questions in your category. The goal is simple: when someone asks one of these assistants for a recommendation, do you get named, and if not, who does?

How buyer-style prompts fan out

People do not all ask the same question the same way. To get a fair, broad picture rather than a single lucky result, Reputably takes buyer-style prompts — the kinds of questions a real customer would ask — and fans them out across many phrasings and variations. Running the same intent worded several different ways gives you coverage instead of a one-off snapshot, so the results reflect how you show up across the range of ways people actually ask.

Reading your results

For each tracked question you can see two things that matter most:

  • Are you recommended? — whether the assistant mentions your business at all when answering a relevant question.
  • Who's named ahead of you? — which competitors or alternatives appear, and how prominently, so you know exactly who is winning the recommendation today.

Tracking the same questions over time shows whether your visibility is improving as you build reviews, mentions, and reputation.

What the results can and can't tell you

AI assistants do not always answer the same prompt identically, and their knowledge changes over time. Treat these results as a directional read on how you tend to show up, not a fixed guarantee for any single conversation.
